I'd be very interested to hear how you get on if you manage to try the plugin. I accept that it is possible to create a MIDI file from audio, but I'm not at all sure of just how 'practical' this is, or what sort of midi file is created. After restarting the software I was able to select the soundpool items and the synths inside my MIDI editor that used to throw the 'Failed to load VST Plugin Vita.dll' just fine. Looks like MAGIX knows its there now:). The plugin works with most of the popular VST-compatible software, such as Steinberg Cubase, Cakewalk Sonar, and Plogue Bidule. WIDI Audio To MIDI VST plugin is not a stand-alone application.
Can I use one of these to:

Analyse an audio track(Just the drum part - no vox/melody), and create a midi file. I want to be able to use the midi file to play drums from an impulse kit I have created. (Can this be done in Recyle w/ Reason? I'd much rather stay in live, though...)
Does anybody have experience of this? I've been looking at a few Audio > Midi VST's over at KVR - but none of the one's I've looked at seem to do the trick...
